Lisiane Leal completed her postdoctoral training in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health at McGill University under the supervision of Dr. Robert Platt. She holds a Sc.D in Epidemiology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. As a pharmacist, she obtained a master's degree in Cardiology and Cardiovascular Sciences in 2016. Lisiane is also graduated in Health Management and Health Informatics. Before dedicating her career to pharmacoepidemiology research, she worked for eight years as a hospital pharmacist in Brazil.
During her postdoctoral training, she focused on perinatal research, with a particular interest in maternal health and the use of medications during pregnancy. She joined Dr Bérard’s team in September 2022.
Lisiane was granted a Jacques-de Champlain FRQS/SQHA (2020-2022) scholarship and was a trainee in the DSECT-CIHR Program in 2021. She is a current member of SER, SPER, and ISPE.
