Dr. Bérard has obtained a grant from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) to conduct a case-control study on the association between the use of SNRIs, bupropion, and mirtazapine and the risk of persistent pulmonary hypertension in the newborn. This study will be conducted using two Canadian databases (the Quebec Pregnancy Cohort and the Saskatchewan database) and an American database (US Medicaid Cohort).

Dr. Bérard received a new grant from the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) to perform a case-control study on mother-to-child transmission of HIV during pregnancy. Three outcomes of maternal HIV will be assessed: 1) mother-baby transmission; 2) congenital malformations; and 3) neonatal deaths. This study will be conducted using two Canadian databases (the Quebec Pregnancy Cohort and the Saskatchewan database) and an American database (US Medicaid Cohort).
